Rep. Murtha wants Gitmo terrorists in U.S. prisons...another perfect example of government stupidity

Yes, I am calling Rep Jack Murtha...an idiot. Anyone who wants to bring the terrorist prisoners from the closing Gitmo, unto American soil and into American prisons...is a complete idiotic fool. Yet another senseless act in Washington.By now you know that President Obama is closing Gitmo because a few American soldiers tortured some detainees years ago. While I agree that those soldiers did a very terrible deed, just what, exactly, is going to happen when Gitmo does close?What will happen to the prisoners?And why close Gitmo if nothing that serious has happened since then?We have some pretty bad people in that prison, far worse than anyone in our own prisons here in the states. To bring the terrorists here...stick them in maximum security prisons ( like Rep. Murtha wants to do in his home state of PA) is simply put...too risky and too stupid.I mean, what if one escapes? And don't tell me he/she won't because there is ALWAYS a "what if" situation. Anything is possible.

What do we do with these detainees? The Obama administration's new Justice Department must conduct a comprehensive review of all detainee records to determine whether there is any actual evidence of criminal activity. Where there is evidence, the federal courts are well positioned to accommodate the government's legitimate national security interests without compromising the fundamental rights of defendants. Where there is not, detainees should be repatriated to their home countries or, if there is a risk of torture or abuse, transferred to countries that will accept them.

Is the U.S. Justice system equipped to handle such cases? These cases belong in a court that upholds due process and in which judges and attorneys are held to constitutional obligations and accountable to the rule of law. The time-tested U.S. civilian courts are equipped to handle complex national security cases. The United States has successfully prosecuted scores of terrorism suspects, both before and after September 11.

Oh sure. And these are Left Wing judges that stand up for the Constitution? I am laughing really hard in my chair right now...And oh yes, time tested huh? Is that why a few detainees at Gitmo and at other prisons Obama is closing are there for their 2nd or 3rd times? I do not trust our court system. AT ALL.
